Why when black men care about the way they look and carry themselves they're considered gay?
I mean its like if their pants aren't hanging off their behind, their face doesn't look like a closed fist, and they aren't constantly disrespecting woman they're gay.
Examples: Tyson Beckford, Ne-Yo, Usher etc..
Unfortunately, there is a subtle vibe of homophobia in the black community... and until that is gone and black men can feel free to be themselves, the persecution will not stop.
I think there are closeted gay black men like Tyler Perry who end up doing more harm than good because they can't just accept themselves and be proud of who they are.
It wasn't until Magic Johnson began his activism for HIV/AIDS that many black, straight men started speaking openly about HIV. There was a lot of stigma around the disease in America, and many people thought of it as only a "gay" disease.
We have to talk openly about things like this and have respect for both straight people and gay.... and both black and white.
The fear of being honest is killing people and making them do dangerous things to satisfy their hidden desires. We need to be friendly and open to allow for some sunlight to be cast on these issues.
