Spray painting metal objects - the first prime? Sealing? Product recommendations?
I plan to spray-painting a small metal object (now a kind of goldish color) pure white light. This would mean for indoors when completed. I have not really done anything like this before - I am refurbishing secondhand shop. First, whether the recommended using a primer first? (I hope that does not have to do more than two coats for coverage of the total) Second, is there a way to "seal" after the paint drys so do not peel (a problem I experienced before with spray paint)!. Third - recommendations for brands / products that will give me optimal results? Thank you!
First you need to take the sandpaper or wire brush and over rough surfaces, it will help the paint adhere. Your primary flat of this quality will help to hide the old color, and will help New paint stick to surfaces. Finally, select high-quality enamel paint to metal. Applying paint in a relatively moisture-free environment or on days with low humidity and follow the instructions able to air at an optimal temperature to ensure proper drying and adhesion.
